How it works

How 4Them works

4Them is a platform that connects students/employees who are required to do community service, with organisations in need (specifically - marginalised). 4Them is a user-friendly website that allows organisations to post ads for support, volunteers to find service opportunities, and teachers/employers to monitor and track progress. We also provide our volunteers with a certificate of hours completed upon request.

Organisations register for support

Organisations post ads with specific time slots, activities, and adequate descriptions of service they require. As well as a nominated administrator, who will be responsible for assisting volunteers. Organisations will be sent an email once a volunteer has booked, prompting them to confirm or decline the booking. Once the service has been completed, the administrator will confirm the volunteer’s hours.

School/Business registers and uploads user information. Students/Employees will access the newsfeed of ads. They select and book appropriate dates/timeslots. Upon arrival, the volunteer will meet with the administrator for a briefing on the activities ahead. After completion, the volunteer will be prompted to fill out a reflection box and make comments on the service.

Admins are appointed upon registration and will have the ability to assign teachers/employers to their respective faculties and remove accounts. Teacher’s/employers will be able to log on, access the newsfeed, monitor students/employees progress, and approve reflections. They may also specify and tailor reflection questions to certain year groups, religious/school beliefs, or company ethics.
